Course Aims
The aim of this eLearning course is to develop your knowledge and understanding of Legionnaires’ disease and regulatory requirements for minimising the risks in health and social care services.
The course begins by explaining what legionellosis, Legionnaires’ disease bacteria and Legionnaires’ disease are and how the disease is spread. You will then learn the symptoms of Legionnaires’ disease, the treatments and the common sources of Legionella.
In Stage Two, you will learn the legal and regulatory framework relating to Legionnaires’ disease in the workplace. You will also learn how to identify, prevent and manage sources of risks. Finally, the course explains what records are required and how long these records must be kept.
